Credit notes to reference the invoice they are crediting

It would be useful, where linked to a invoice, that a credit note references the invoice number it is crediting.  It would also be useful for the credit note to pull though the Purchase Order number of the invoice.  Many of our customers require this detail and will reject credit notes which do not contain this information. It means that it is a manual process to have the level of detail required.

This is a great idea, we have come across the same problem and there is nothing on the Credit Note to link to Invoice Numbers / PO's .

    Hi Colin & voters,

    This is a great idea

Could you please let me know where the most useful place would be for this? Are you looking for the Invoice number to be included on the Credit Note itself? Or as a sortable/filterable additional column in the Credit Notes DataGrid? My instinct was the former, but in retrospect, I can see being able to search by Invoice in the Credit Notes page being very helpful.

Also, I'm sure you're aware that each invoice in your system has an Invoice ID and an Invoice Reference, am I right in assuming that you want to see the Invoice Reference?

As a credit note only refers to the course the delegate has been transferred to it would be really useful to have both the invoice number and PO number being credited referenced on the credit note. This way the customer knows exactly what the credit note is for.

    Hi Jenna,

Both on the Credit Note and as a searchable field in the system itself. They have two functions, the first for the customer so they know what's going on (this will save us lots of admin time fielding questions and providing explanations) and searchable (clickable) so our finance team can link invoices and credits easily, and move seamlessly between the two!

    Hi Liz & Peter,

Thank you both for your responses, I'll keep you updated on the progress on this via this suggestion.
